      • Background:
      • This gene encodes a protein that hydrolyzes purine nucleotide phosphoramidates substrates, including AMP-morpholidate, AMP-N-alanine methyl ester, AMP-alpha-acetyl lysine methyl ester, and AMP-NH2. The encoded protein interacts with these substrates via a histidine triad motif. This gene is considered a tumor suppressor gene. In addition, mutations in this gene can cause autosomal recessive neuromyotonia and axonal neuropathy. There are several related pseudogenes on chromosome 7. Several transcript variants have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015],
      • Function:
      • caution:Was originally thought to be a protein kinase C inhibitor and to bind zinc in solution. Both seem to be incorrect.,domain:The histidine triad, also called HIT motif, forms part of the binding loop for the alpha-phosphate of purine mononucleotide.,function:Hydrolyzes adenosine 5'-monophosphoramidate substrates such as AMP-morpholidate, AMP-N-alanine methyl ester, AMP-alpha-acetyl lysine methyl ester and AMP-NH2.,similarity:Belongs to the HINT family.,similarity:Contains 1 HIT domain.,subcellular location:Interaction with CDK7 leads to a more nuclear localization.,subunit:Homodimer. Interacts with CDK7.,tissue specificity:Widely expressed.,
      • Subcellular Location:
      • Cytoplasm . Nucleus . Interaction with CDK7 leads to a more nuclear localization. .
      • Expression:
      • Widely expressed.
